Merchant Taylor’s School for Girls
Emma Dalzell, Bare Bones Founder, provided an interactive presentation at an event ‘Thinking about your Future’ to Lower Sixth Girls. She discussed ‘How to brand you.’ Including; ‘What is a brand?’ ‘What brands do we know?’ ‘What people are brands?’ and posed the questions ‘What 3 words represent you?’ ‘What impression do you want to give potential employers in the future?’ She explored the concept of social media and how this can be used to network and find employment in the future. She has since been invited back to their “Heads of Careers” Conference to help teachers become more Social Media “savvy”.

Henry Smith Ltd
Henry Smith (C/E) Ltd is a steelwork contractor based in Cheshire. They work for a wide range of clients, building anything from prisons to airports, apartments to universities.
They realised that in this tough construction market, they needed to completely re-do their website and take a fresh approach to make them stand out in their crowded market.
Bare Bones has helped them develop a new brand look and a new website (click here) which is designed to make the most of their personal approach to clients. We advised them on adding a “Client Area” to their site, which is unique to them, where their customers can log in and see the latest update on their projects, send queries and even see their job being worked on in the Henry Smith factory.
Bare Bones have managed the whole project, written all of the content on their website, including all of the case studies, and are currently managing their site on an ongoing basis.
We’ve also helped them achieve and maintain a key construction industry accreditation – improving their processes and efficiency. So, no matter what your challenge, we can help you achieve your goal.
Clippy’s Apples
Clippy’s Apples are award-winning British-apple based conserves, jellies, chutneys & relishes. The company was set up by Clippy (aka Michelle McKenna) from her spare bedroom and using apples from her back garden.
She’s taken the business from strength to strength, and now supplies not only delicatessens and online stores, but the big supermarkets and Ocado too.
This rapid expansion meant that she needed a bit of advice as to how to make the most of her success and also how to market to large businesses, who work in a completely different way.
Bare Bones helped Clippy’s Apples focus their limited budgets and came up with some new ideas and a marketing plan that was very low cost, using the fantastic network of customers and advocates that the business already has.
We continue to help by acting as a sounding board – sometimes that’s all you need.
Cakes by Coulson
Set up by Roger (the Master Baker) and Alex, they decided to expand their business, which meant a new logo, rebranding and improving the existing website, ideas for opening night, thoughts on how to get more footfall into the new premises and even new carrier bags!
And of course, each time Bare Bones met with the fantastic owners… we enjoyed another cake!
Blissful Living
This North West based Yoga business wanted to refocus their marketing efforts and hone their target audience, but wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. Bare Bones Marketing was able to break through the challenges and some of the barriers and work with the client to come up with a detailed and actionable marketing plan that the business is now implementing. They had a very limited budget, but spare time, so we were able to generate ideas that didn’t cost much, but that the owner could implement themselves.
Easy Online Recruitment
Bare Bone Marketing acts as Easy Online Recruitment’s Owner’s Marketing Advisor, helping refine their strategy and plans with a monthly meeting to keep them on track. We even worked on a very specific and highly targeted direct marketing campaign (including design, copywriting and print) which resulted in a 26% response rate!
Other businesses we’ve helped include:
A charity (design work), a dentist (branding, design, copywriting & website), a school (design & consultancy), a training business (strategy & planning), a holistic therapist (strategy & planning), a college (PR), a restaurant (social media, planning & PR), a large insurance company (planning & social media training), a financial planning business (planning, social media, copywriting & website), a web company (strategy & planning, social media & blogging), a youth travel company (social media) and a holiday cottage business (strategy, planning & PR).
